Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome all of you to the 21st World Congress of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists held in Tokyo in 2011.
As a leading organization explicitly focused on surgery, gastroenterology and oncology, the IASGO has played an important role in providing the state-of-the-art treatment for patients regardless of their social, economic, religious and political status.
Supreme and ultimate philosophy of the IASGO, "Medicine without Frontier, Medicine for All," has contributed to the development of health of people, as well as the development of medicine itself. We believe that we, ourselves, have enjoyed the prosperity of the philosophy of the IASGO.
Given that, we hope to provide all our colleagues and friends with the opportunity to encounter new findings and technologies. Themed on "What's new in Tokyo 2011," we plan to have sessions feature the latest topics on various categories on surgery, gastroenterology and oncology, including topics on robotic surgery. We sincerely anticipate making the congress as a meeting point where all our colleagues and friends gather and exchange their latest knowledge and experiences in their fields. Not only that, we anticipate as many young colleagues as possible to submit their papers to join the IASGO 2011 in Tokyo, and experience the uniqueness of the IASGO.
Other enchantments will include the fun at Tokyo. You may find the natural and cultural attractions around Tokyo. We hope you find the opportunity to explore the fascinating Japan during your stay.

On behalf of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists, we are more than pleased to extend to you our sincerest and warmest invitation to the 21st World Congress of the IASGO taking place in Tokyo, Japan from November 9th to 12th, 2011.
Since the beginning of the history of IASGO, our ultimate aim is to provide "Medicine without Frontier", and the meeting in Tokyo in 2011 will be the best opportunity to show our achievements and move forward to the further introduction of our philosophy.
Scientific programs at the IASGO 2011 in Tokyo will focus on the latest findings and achievements in the fields of surgery, gastroenterology and oncology throughout the world. Welcome Message from Secretary General
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I feel really honored and privileged to have this opportunity today to welcome you all and make my address on the occasion of our 21st IASGO World Congress taking place in Tokyo, Japan under the Presidency of Prof. Wataru Kimura.
We are sure that this meeting will represent a landmark in the history of our association. Our international congress in Tokyo is going to once again fulfill our highest expectations for achieving a globalization of medical knowledge and expertise; something that stands as an ideal, but also as a reality, for all of us who have witnessed the impressive developments, evolution and growth of our association during the past 22 years of our history.
We are committed to succeed in bringing together surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists and endoscopists from all corners of the world, so that we can offer a unique opportunity to our colleagues to present their experience scientific achievements in this one of a kind event.
Today we are asking you to contribute with the best of your scientific work in this valuable congress by presenting your experience in the form of lectures, free papers, oral and video presentations.
Furthermore, we will once again take advantage of the incredible capabilities that Digital Video Transmission System (DVTS) has to offer for broadcasting live demonstrations of the most advanced oncological, laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic procedures for three consecutive days from the most prominent universities centers around the world directly to the congress venue.
Prof. Kimura and his local Organizing Committee are determined to offer us the unique combination of an outstanding scientific program complimented by a diverse social and cultural agenda reflecting the long lasting tradition, culture and civilization of the host country.
